Reedtz Bros. statement re. Viborg FF

Have today along with a group acquired a majority share, at Danish club Viborg. Very interesting, I think Brentford have the same, with their owners being involved with another club.

    Viborg FF

Our owners Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz are part of an investment group which has acquired a majority share of Danish Superliga side Viborg FF.

Christoffer and Alexander said: “We are very pleased to be part of a project to establish Viborg as a competitive Superliga side in the long term and look forward to making positive contributions to the club through our established and ever-improving analysis models.

“Our enjoyable experience of professional football led to us making this decision and we believe deploying our methods in another culture and environment will be beneficial to both Viborg and Notts County in the future.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our two years so far at the world’s oldest professional club and our investment in Viborg does not affect our ownership in any way.

“It’s been very encouraging to see Michael Doyle and Sam Slocombe commit their future to us and we remain in regular dialogue with Ian Burchnall, Jason Turner and the recruitment team as we look to build a promotion-winning side.

“We would also like to say a huge thank you to the Notts supporters for their incredible response to our season tickets going on sale. We can’t wait to see you all at Meadow Lane soon.”

Are we allowed to loan players between Notts and the Danish league? Or is that a no-no because of Brexit?

We can loan players if they can get a work permit. The chances of getting a work permit are a lot harder now I believe but not insurmountable.

From reading about the Viborg sale, the Reedtz brothers are not front and centre and are probably there from a technical side of things as the main group are incredibly wealthy anyway, perhaps may lead to the same group purchasing Notts maybe at some point although this is pure speculation much like the way Man City owners own Man City and a bunch of other clubs

Is it just me or does 'Viborg' sound like a 5 ex toy manufacturer? Hope they can chuck us a few players.

They're gonna bail, you just know it. Did you see the way they waved to the crowd after the Chessie match?

It's beginning to look like the Brentford model, with their connections in Denmark.

That would be my instinctive, baked-in, Notts County fear too. Counter to it though is that it's hard to see them getting as much satisfaction from being part of an investment group with a majority share as they stand to get by successfully steering NCFC back into, and up, the Football League.

PS there's probably not a Notts "early-exit plan" either... at least not one that doesn't involve waving goodbye to their investment to date.
