Thread: Now please sack Southgate.

    Now please sack Southgate.

Completely lost the plot after the first 60 minutes.Mancini played to win and Southgate played not to lose. The Italians were worthy winners. With the talent he has at his disposal he is too negative because he is **** scared of losing.

No Burnley team would leave the posts undefended at a corner. If Trippier had been on the line at the far post, as he always was for us, we'd have won 1-0.

Letting a young lad take the last penalty, while Sterling the coward was hiding behind players not watching.Sack the cnut ..Sterling was the worst player on the pitch tonight and didn't perform at all the useless two hat.

Furthermore he writes a penalty takers list with PC in mind hoping Saka will be the pin-up boy after insisting on taking the knee.To put that pressure on a 19 year old is stupid at best.

Totally agree Alf, I also thought Sterling should have been replaced. Grealish was far more effective, but it is obvious that Southgate does not have the balls to replace Sterling.

Let’s be clear. Southgate will not be sacked in the foreseeable future. He will have exceeded his “targets” by reaching a World Cup semi-final and now the Euros Final. Besides he is the darling of the woke media. As our youngest daughter was often wont to say “Forgerrit”.

Unfortunately Outwood I have to agree with you.If he had a shred of the decency the MSM keep heaping on him he would resign but after seeing his house in the press this week I think that also is a non-starter.Still look on the bright side- by the time Qatar comes around he will have perfected the knee taking.I honestly think even Fat Sam would have done a better job.

We have a culture in this country of rewarding failure and Gareth is the very acceptable face of failure. At least many of us “old hands” have memories of 1966 but for generations of England fans they have nothing. 55 years and counting. Will England succeed again before I shuffle off this mortal coil? I know not but I doubt it.

“This England team will come again, they will be competitive for the next 10 or 15 years" says Gary Lineker as he Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard give their thoughts after England lose the European Championship final on penalties.

Young talented players we have but how many years could be wasted by an England manager who cannot fulfil their potential?
