We scored just after a great save by Slocombe apparently.

    FT: Coalville 0-2 Notts County.

A winning start for the mint green kit.

As you say, looks like a natural finisher in that! And whilst we're at it, their left winger looked a bit tasty as well.

    Just got back from Coalville.

I thought they were the better side in the first half, looked more organised as you would expect from a settled team.

Notts looked like a disjointed team of strangers which they were. Still not convinced by Lewis Knight, he struggles to get into games.

Second half was a bitter better with more of the first team players, and that extra bit of quality told in the end.

Credit to Coalville they looked a decent team.

Plenty of Notts fans there, nice lower league set up. Telford should be a tougher test, just one level below Notts.

My synopsis of the match- usual pre-season first run out fare and difficult to judge anyone based on that. First half triallists didn't particularly stand out. Cameron didn't look too troubled, as you'd hope.

Lamine Sharif looked to get involved and spread it without doing an awful lot, Homdermarck and Wright didn't do an awful lot, Wright looked quick and direct but a bit awkward and we already have that in Eli.

Brookes was confident in goal and made a couple of decent saves. Lad on the left (McGregor?) looked like he could be tricky. Archie Aves had a bit of a torrid time on the right at the back but he's only young and had Brookes and O'Brien screaming at him constantly.

Second half we looked a lot more composed, Rawlinson carried on what Cameron had been doing. Joel Taylor looks rapid and keen to run at and past people, something we didn't have in the first half. McCrory showed his experience and linked up well with Taylor though he's obviously short of fitness. Youth teamer Cam Smith was eager to get involved.

Bennett was the one that stood out for me, even before his goal involvements. He was very busy, linking up with Doyle and both wings and looks like he's the sort of player that Burchnall would like as he maintains a tempo. Don't know why he's without a club but he's obviously got experience and showed a bit of class, albeit against a part time opposition.
