    Another player signs up

Mich’el Parker is the latest in the door at Motherwell.

The defensive midfielder has signed a deal until January, having spent the last few months training with the team.

Here we go again signing a player, even on a short term deal who is obviously not up to speed with his fitness. I cannot see how that benefits the squad/team. We must surely have learnt by now that these type of players invariably add nothing and are only an unnecessary drain on our player budget.

We are very ‘set in our ways’ when it comes to scouting and recruitment.

Nine times out of ten we look to English lower leagues and players not suitable for the positions we need covered. Yes, it has worked for us on occasion but we need to start thinking outside of the box in our signing policies.

I know there’s still a good bit to go before the start of the season proper and GA has said that he still intends to bring more players in, but looking at what we currently have and what we have brought in so far - Kelly aside - then I’m getting increasingly worried about the season ahead.

Welcome to the club to the lad and hopefully this works out for him, as always he will get my full support and that of the vast majority of the fanbase.
