Hypernormalisation "argues that governments, financiers, and technological utopians have, since the 1970s, given up on the complex "real world" and built a simpler "fake world" run by corporations and kept stable by politicians" (according to Wiki ) but Bitter Lake provides Cold War context/background. Western populists are those that believe in the "fake world" theories that are expounded by e.g Trump, Johnson etc to grab control via simple messages and fear-mongering.

All sounds a bit conspiracy theorist but the documentaries provide amazing evidence that the viewer can make their own mind up about - but that's getting a bit O/T - I mentioned Bitter Lake specifically as it partially/indirectly explains the Qatar situation and just happens to be a fascinating bit of film once it gets going.

Cheers Lusty, but I'm no wiser, in fact I wish I'd never asked.

I have a huge backlog of stuff to read and watch Lusty, and only a limited amount of time available. I'll put it on the list, whether I'll ever get round to it I don't know. To be honest, I can't say that discovering what a western progressive is tops my list of priorities at the moment.

There is a whole new lexicon of words and phrases to catch up on mon ami. Me and you and one or two others on here probably do not have enough time left to catch up with it all.

On a different matter, please remind me again what happened to the poster from Morecambe who was preparing for government?

I think I tipped him over the edge when I mentioned the Lockdown Sceptics website. He went on a very peculiar rant and even accused me of funding it. I blame the Grauniad, some of their junior hacks had run a piece on that website, the usual hysterical Lefty nonsense, and he'd clearly bought the lot. He never really recovered and departed soon after.

It's what I like about Army, he doesn't agree with me, you or Norder, but he doesn't take his bat home, he fights his corner, gives as good as he gets. Good lad.

Thanks for that, any update on the alleged whale vomit discovery mon ami?
