Thanks for the report, sounds like your typical friendly. I was a bit nervous when I heard Clough was starting at centre-forward and obviously, with Mellish in midfield, we're never going to be too fluent.

Did Beech stick with long ball and 4-3-3?

Wasn't impressed with Whelan he sat to far back off his attacker and his passing was somewhat astray. Hopefully he will improve with games. Actually the teams passing was woeful at times it wasn't until Tour'e came on and started taking their defence on that we started to look better.
It wasn't clever either to keep hitting high balls to Clough and expecting him to get the better of the taller defender.

Yes long balls were the order of the day - they were not very accurate most of the time either.

The young black lad that scored for them was class, lightning quick he was and a joy to watch and just like the other player he was a slip of a lad, he managed to put Whelan on his backside which was very funny as it was like David and Goliath but Whelan was incensed by this and properly hacked the little lad ten minutes later that he took a while to get up from.

It must be a bit of a shan for them watching that match back as some of their players were stick thin and they were welting our players and making them look silly most of the time - it had to be seen to be believed and it should not have happened.
