    sell on clauses

we have a 40% sell on clause on Adam Armstrong.

What does this mean long term?

i understand if they sell him we get 40% of that

but what if he signs a new contract with his club? are we still getting 40% if they sell him?

what if he runs his contract down and leaves for free, do we still get 40% from his next club if they sell him?

    We do...I don't know...I think so...don't know but probably...I doubt it.

Not sure how much help I've been.

That's because you can't make your mind up whether or whether not to be decisive or indecisive.

The money from his sell on won't be re-invested into the team so it probably doesn't matter

It means as long as they sell him we get 40% of the fee.

If he leaves for a free we get nothing.

Our deal is with Blackburn and Blackburn only.

There’s got to be a deal to be done here surely - as in buy back that maximises Blackburn’s income and minimises our sheepishness of letting him go too cheaply in the first place. Oh, hang on - Ashley is a cünt so no chance of the club benefiting from this.

It would also mean if we bought him we'd get 40% discount. Might be one of the few affordable strikers out there for us given he's in the last 12 months of his contract too, and we still desperately need one. I know there's question marks over whether he is capable of doing it in the PL, but we already know the answer to that question about Gayle, Muto and Joelinton, so it's possibly worth a punt. And whatever the fee is, we could probably raise that by selling Gayle to a Championship side looking for guaranteed goals in that division.

    Just a thought!
