I’m enjoying the games and, being a keen cyclist, have really found the latter events fantastic.
I’m conscious that the earlier post from Phild received somewhat negative responses, but I would recommend viewing (via BBC iplayer) the 3 episode programme “Gold Rush” our race to Olympics. Well worth a look at this documentary and the impact of cash on our Olympic sporting successes.
I love the Olympics, but have to agree that the inclusion of so many odd ‘sports’ and the likes of golf and tennis etc have detracted it’s appeal.

I can just imagine the ancient Greeks competing at golf and tennis in the nude (as were the rules of participation for the ancient games). There'd have been balls all over the place, quite literally. As for the cycling no thank you very much with those razor saddles, doesn't 'bare' thinking about Paul...... 😊 .
