    Oddschecker sez

Morecambe will finish rock bottom, then Cambridge, Cheltenham then Wimbledon. Cant be far off there. You have to ask how on earth Morecambe and United got there in the first place.

Last seasons div 2 must have been a poor place . Div 2 cant be far off being non league standard, after all, Mullin came to United as a failed striker, not having made an impact anywhere else.

Div 2, like non league, is physical, div 1 will be where the players can make the ball talk a bit more. Hard work and effort may keep United off the bottom. Thats 24th, not escaping relegation.

Next season was an ideal opportunity to establish United in a higher league, sparking an upward spiral, bigger gates, sponsorship, TV etc.

Instead, because the owners lack the required investment, it will be a relegation and back to square one. But being Cambridge, its still quids in because its not non league, an ever present threat.

It makes me wonder about the wisdom of spending a million on infrastructure, when it could have gone on the playing budget. After all, being treated like cattle in regards to the rest rooms, can become normal and ignored.

If thats what the moneys for.

Then the huge sums spent on the community trust, how many players could that have signed up, or even bought. You cant dilute the reason for your existence without paying for it. What i mean by that is getting relegated. And going down inhibits the growth and development of everything.

    Its the tyranny of socialism.

In this case its 23rd, according to Oddschecker.

There are many devoted United fans begging for a winning team. How much of your entry fee goes elswhere??? There needs to be a new CFU, thats not a lapdog.

    Michelle of Stuntney.

I've lost all interest in Notts County but not football,I could get a season ticket for Meadow Lane but all that would mean is that I've got to attend twenty odd games looking at the same scenery that I've been viewing for the past 40 years, sit in the same seat and get a tea from the same kiosk at 3.45 that I've always done, where's the excitement in that?
I used to hand over my cash every season as a sense of loyalty but Notts have owners now that are far richer than me and won't miss my 300 odd quid,so I've decided to go to some away days, not following Notts but league grounds that I haven't been to or interest me,spend a couple of days in the local area and getting to know England that little bit better,Rochdale are on the list because I've grown to admire their fans for putting up a fight,so is Carlisle as I've never been yet post on their forum and Cumbria deserves another visit, Cambridge as well Frank even though I've been to the Abbey before I'm pretty sure that I'm missing out on a lot of the localish history (where was it that I visited that had a fantastic building as a tourist information centre?) plus lots of other smaller grounds that I will fancy visiting,it's got to be better than sitting in the same seat for yet another season, time is running out for us Frank so enjoy life and do something different with your Saturday afternoons

Cant blame you for that, when United went down to the conference i rarely went. When i did go, and United scored, i still couldnt get excited.

Its the same thing over and over, ad infinitum. Whether its prem or conference. Football is more like a ritual, like Mass. At least Mass has some point to it.

County or United beating whoever has no lasting meaning, like Michael Mcintyre. Then the owner bans his own fans for being different. Having said that, seeing the odd Wisbech or Soham game is good. Its not worth investing feelings into it.

Cambridge is well worth visiting, it has a different atmosphere to any other town, it has a buzz. Theres so much to see you will have to research the best places to go. I wander around the Fitzwilliam museum sometimes if you like museums. Enjoy your freedom, i wish i had that.

Id like to go to scotland, never been there, and the north east. Its weird when you get older that you realise you have no future, or none to speak of. Its all been there etc.... career, family, all gone for good. I have a strange problem in regards to money, what to do with it.

If you buy stuff you dont need, its like wasting it. I recently visited a place i worked at when younger, i never thought id return in a posh car. Memories eh. Like football, life becomes repetitive, you can only do what youve done before. Id like to go back to America, visit Slovenia, Naples, Sorrento, Clodig, Mestre, Lompoc, Sanfrancisco....clacton, felixstowe.....Istanbul..... not much time left. Cant do it, yet. If at all.

There's no chance of you visiting abroad yet until flying and travel get back to normal which will be a couple of years at the earliest, there's nothing stopping you traveling around England, Scotland or Wales though most of which you can be reached in a day and there's some very interesting places to see, Cornwall and Devon I never tire of visiting and I've had a trip to the Scilly Isles planned for two years now before Covid came and spoilt things but it's on my bucket list for next year,Scotland is worth visiting for scenic views and the engineering of the Falkirk wheel is mind-blowing,Loch Ness is massive but I reckon that the legend of the monster is just some kind of ripoff tale to get the tourists in as I never saw it once the day that I was there, you can plan your trip in advance if you book via Bookings.com or something similar but if you are adventurous like me then just head somewhere and then book online pressing the 'hotels near me' function when you get there (wherever there may be)
Go for it Frank, enjoy life and make the most of it while you can, there's no point in being the richest man in the cemetery and there's no pockets in shrouds, you don't have to do it every week but whenever you feel like stretching your legs and curiosity and there's lots of dog friendly hotels if you Google it

Well this thread took a sudden turn for the worst, anyway Frank haven't any of the comments that I've made on death sunk in? It doesn't scare me at all because there's no escaping it,when your time is up then it's up and as I've nearly reached 60 I can't complain,I see death as a gateway to seeing past friends and relatives providing I'm going the same way as them of course

I hope that your partner gets better soon
