Much can / needs to happen over next couple of weeks before season starts, but just looking at the squad, just looks & feels a bit lightweight in terms of backups ( in some positions ) and that bit of extra quality.
Firpo has come in at LB - but with Alioski / Davis leaving, leaves only really Mr Versatile ( Dallas )
Still nothing at DM - only really Phillips, and with the importance of this role, strange that as yet, it still remains to be sorted.
Striker / Attacking wise, another quality alternative would be more than usefull.
With the likes of Alioski, Hernandez, Berardi, Casey, Davis gone, and maybe Huggins, Gotts to follow, as it stands we could even be slightly weaker.
The one huge plus, is the experience / knowledge gained from last year.

Think your last sentence says it all mate. Not just the players but all involved, I have 100% faith in our set-up and believe the powers that be know our weaknesses and will sort them. Maybe 10, 15 players on the cusp with I recon 4 or 5 will at some point (when everyone feels they are ready) will step up. I like the way we are operating the future set up.

I have every faith he will get 2 goals this season and costa will assist him with his only contribution.

Good piece by the Athletic about French clubs needing to sell following the collapse of The big TV deal - wonder if we are monitoring players from their top clubs. Interesting that those that have been sold so far are at market values (whatever that means these days) as opposed to the insane over inflated prices we sometimes see.

Think we need 2 really and they're both in central midfield- a back up for Kalvin and someone better than Klich to play his role with him as the back up.

Would love an additional Winger and get Costa sold as I don't really think he provides any competition for harrison or Raphinha but also happy to just build up Poveda, Summerville, Gelhardt etc in that position if they're ever needed.

Agreed Joel and Klich not getting any younger - would love us to sign someone like Camavinga or Gravenbirch who look like being tremendous players. Lad Lewis Ferguson from Scotland could be a good back up for Kalvin

Given that God prefers to work with a non bloated squad, aren't Struijk, Llorente and Koch back up for Phillips? A bit like Spurs situ with Kane it's not easy signing a PL quality player willing to shadow someone integral to the team from the bench.
With the promotion we should expect to see a higher level of signings in the U23's.
