Hhmm we might have to be careful of Cov at the weekend, as Mark Robins (one of our former managers) is still doing a really good job there.

I notice our Loan Ranger at Accy got 25 minutes off the bench, early days I know, but slightly disconcerting that even down in D1 Coleman didn't consider him good enough to start.

Never mind lads, those down the road have been defeated at home tonight in the Carabao Cup by Morecambe.
Icing on the cake is that the winning penalty was scored by Claret loanee, Adam Phillips in the 84th minute. He was also cautioned during added time so he must have realised what is required!

Unlucky Acido. Your makeshift lot dominated ours for the first 25 minutes - great build up play and perhaps should have scored. We threw on a few more regulars and took control 2nd half and might have nicked it, but a draw was fair and a shame it had to be decided on penalties.. but you have a good team and I reckon you can have another push at the Prem this year - starting with a home win against Cov on Saturday.

Tahh Wander, but Im sure you've seen my thoughts on this pointless F.League cup competiton these days, and I would have said the same if we'd won the tie.
It was a much changed line up for us and maybe for yourselves as well, which shows how little we and most other clubs care about it. Thankfully its not over 2 legs anymore!.

...and straight to pens instead of extra time which teams can't afford especially at this stage of the season - even more so in L1 when you have to play Sat/Tues most weeks. Yup we rested 5 (2 came on towards the end) as our main priority is to at least stabilise in L1 but the lads who came in are supposedly competing for a starting spot so they're expected to perform and there were serious concerns they were getting outclassed after the first 25 minutes. Hope the Tykes do well this year - you certainly looked good enough compared to the Preston and Blackburn teams we played in preseason.
