But it's there and accessible for the ordinary fan as a special event e.g. for a birthday or anniversary celebration and in reality is not unaffordable for a huge number in these rare instances so definitely not too expensive for the ordinary fan.

For what it's worth (my opinion only) I think hospitality is over priced for what it is - even with VAT (which the club has no choice but to charge) added on. However I don't tend to eat three course dinners at midday and am not a big drinker so I limit it to one or two visits a season.
I know a long standing Dundee supporter who was intending to take his family to hospitality in Dens to celebrate his birthday. When he discovered the cost he told me that it was too expensive and instead he took his family to the Birkie (Birkhill Inn) to celebrate his birthday.

The sad thing is that my post about the long standing Dundee supporter having his birthday meal in the Birkie instead of in one of the hospitality lounges at Dens Perk is true. I have previously read about at least one out of town Dundee supporters clubs having their Christmas lunch in a pub in the centre of Dundee because hospitality at Dens Park was too expensive.

A three course meal with a pay facility at the bar is more than sufficient. Other clubs manage to do. Lochee United are currently advertising hospitality at Thomson Park for £35 per person which includes match entry, SKY Sports and BT Sports on large screen, two course meal with wine, half time refreshments, 5 drink vouchers and meet the players and coaches. https://www.locheeunited.co.uk/hospitality/
Whilst the standard of football at Thomson Park is not as high at Dens Park the game might be more entertaining.
In my opinion Hospitality at Thomson Park is far better value than at Dens Park.
What does the Lochee United team cost to put on the park? Come on, be fair. No way could DFC ever be able to consider providing the same package for the same price as Lochee United. That is not meant as a criticism of Lochee United by the way. I think they know who their customers are and set their prices accordingly.

I usually go once a year to hospo... but not now after carry on getting money back.

Dfc hospo and birkie steak pie both overrated imho.😁

Perhaps the Lochee United sponsors are subsidising the cost of hospitality at Thomson Park.
