The Lower Breck lads need another comeback to avoid falling foul of the curse. 1-0 down at half time.

So the monkey of being MM team to follow is now firmly on the back of Mossley AFC in Greater Manchester who ply their trade in the Northern Premier League. Nicknamed The Lilywhites and currently managed by David Fish who in that role is following in the footsteps of famous Owls such as Howard Wilkinson and Terry Curran and our own Ally Pickering who was at the helm there for a couple of years at the start of the century. For a non-league outfit Mossley have a pretty good record of reaching the 1st round proper of the FA Cup, most notably when losing 3-0 at Millmoor in November of 1977 which is widely believed to be the last time RUFC won an FA Cup game when in actuality we did go on to beat Spennymoor 6-0 in the next round before succumbing to a "Harry the Dog" inspired Millwall after a replay in Round 3.

Next up for Mossley a home tie against Newton Aycliffe from Co. Durham on September 4th.

Think this clubs need kicking out all together.

Lower Breck’s players ended up clashing with young supporters in the stand behind the goal and the game was stopped and the final five minutes were no longer played out.

Those Merseyside scallys! It also looks like they've blocked their Twitter account to non-members as it was open for all to view up until the end of the game last night.

Well I can't believe it! I have a weekend away and those rogues from Mossley only go against everything the MM FA Cup thread stands for and sneak a 1-0 win over Newton Aycliffe. Next up for them is a Manchester derby against Radcliffe F.C. (formerly Radcliffe Borough) managed by Welshman Lee Fowler who kicked around a ball in the lower leagues and non league for almost 20 years including a brief spell at our friends Donny when he was signed by Dean Saunders. In the past Radcliffe has been the stomping ground of some famous names including Frank Worthington and Peter Barnes but today the only name in their squad that rings any bells is Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro who I'm sure has come up against the Millers for a few clubs.

September 18th is the date to look out for and make sure Mossley don't sneak another win past us

3 qualifying rounds in the book and 3 more to go before RUFC enter the competition. Can Mossley defy the odds and make it all the way to face us at NYS in early November? By 5pm Saturday we'll know if they are still in the running.
