There is nothing worse (well maybe there is) than being dominated in your own stadium by away fans.

Anything that can be done to stop that is a big bonus. Taking a wee financial hit to let the fans motivate the team as we have seen has to be a good idea. Further up the table, mair money etc etc....
That's all fair and well, and I do agree to an extent, but the fans need to turn up. Having a sprinkling of fans in a couple of sections of The Shed looks pretty pants and only dilutes the atmosphere in other parts of the stadium, as most of the fans housed in The Shed are fans who would have otherwise be in the ET or the GF. If we're guaranteed an extra 2000/3000 or so on the gate with it being a big game then it's definitely feasible and worth it. Unfortunately the only game we can guarantee that is a derby.

Over the course of a season though this could cost us hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Celtic,Rangers and The FUN will more or less sell out their allocation,The Sheepies would probably too and Hearts&Hibs would bring good numbers too.

It's a hell of a lot of 4rses on seats that would be missing so we could get a few hundred in the Shed. Especially when that couple of hundred would come out of two home ends.

    Financial suicide IMO.

Point taken, but.............. I've never saw, or heard, the GF get above a wee twinkle of noise, even at the good matches.

I'm sure I heard the guy and his family next to me sing " We really dislike Dundee" NO............ We *****n HATE them!!!

    Poetic licence of course

Yep, we need to be sensible here. The only big match we can probably fill all three stands with arabs is the derby game.

For Hearts, Hibs, Celtic and Sevco we should sell them the Shed. But... only after they have sold the JK and FP allocations.

Hearts away support is pish. Always has been. I'm sure the last time we played them at Tannadice, they brought about 500, tops!

We did the Zombie song in Hospo when we knocked The Rangers oot the Scottish(AGAIN) with Russell running riot. They boycotted the game which was a very good decision.

Not quite true mate, when the Jambos are doing well their support turn out in big numbers, same as Hibs

I used to think like that, used to post on here as far back as 2005ish about closing the shed when most wanted fans in the shed , fill the two stands we have that hold 8000 I said, dilutes atmosphere I said yada yada, like the GF adds much atmosphere full or not

Changed my opinion as it was quite clearly better using Utd fans in all three stands (we just e that vs rangers with 4500 across three stands nevermind 8000 or more) , even if the shed is only had a couple sections filled it's worth it, the online ticketing system meant we could sell section at a time, it works, we've seen it and many games in recently seasons, you get singing at both ends for Utd instead y of a big up for it away crowd behind one goal

3600 in the fair play and Jerry Kerr is more than enough for away sides, so hopefully they change it for derby etc once they feel comfortable opening up the Jerry Kerr fully

Mal Brannigan was good this way, made it the best it had been ticketing wise and having our fans buying from the shed section at a time, seems they may be undoing his good work, hopefully just short term thing
