Nah its weird, but I think it's more to do with daylight/fog these days as opposed to snow.

When I started footballs came in one colour - brown.
Then the white ones appeared, got scuffed up after 3 games. Good though. Then the orange ones, they were better.
Now the Champions League ones have got wee stars on them. Total bo llocks
