    but think of all the extra beer that you can have if you test positive and need to quarantine for 10 days, or whatever the current rules are?

    A + test for the trip out would mean lager at home as opposed to beer in the pub. A + test on the way back would mean a probable £1750 stay in some quarantine hotel, somewhere as they wouldn't let me on the flight. Might they let me do the "Q" at my sister in Law's? Don't know.

    On blance its maybe best not to test positive in view of the uncertain status of the beer you may be able to access, or indeed how you may feel about wanting to drink beer when under the influence of covid. Covid didn't deter my younger son, who had a mild case, but stopped my older son's drinking in its tracks for a week

    My eldest also had a mild case of CV19. Youngest, who is on the trip with me, has managed to stay clear of it thus far.
