I've had a dabble with the Onedin Line set in Tilbury.
In it a black Chinese refugee called Sammy from Wigan sets sail to avoid rent arrears from a 6 months stay at the Ritz.
His wife Jim ( a meat packer from Congleton) and the family are stowed away on a merchant boat called Greta Turdberg and can't wait to set off on a great adventure that'll take them to far flung exotic places like the Maldives, Miami, Borneo and Kings Lynn!
