You have to feel sorry for Sam Fishburn.

He will be shunted from pillar to post with little control over his own destiny.

What is best for Carlisle United or Sam Fishburn is clearly irrelevant.

The only objective here is to maximise his value as a commodity with a view to getting Jenkins, Pattison and Nixon off the hook from their personal guarantees.

A scenario which would obviously delight the Trust as Jim and Billy would hate to see their close friends lose any money.

He needs at least half a season in the first team at our level to maximise his value - like Branthwaite had.

I think he will likely go to Conference level on loan

Why .... it has confirmed his capacity at a level above what he was last season and will possibly go to a Conference team to show his ability on that stage and return to Carlisle late season if we are safe and in mid table.

We had pre-season to confirm he was at a higher level than he was last season.

What would have happened if Pressley had loaned Branthwaite out to whatever level instead of blooding him in our own team? It shows a lack of judgement by Beech to send him out for the season to a village level club.

First off, the more Fishburn plays elsewhere the less likely it is we'll see him play for us at all. He's being scouted up the Ying-Yang as we speak, so likely (in my opinion) we'll receive bids in January or when the window opens in the summer.

Secondly, our own strikers are hardly pulling up any trees for our first team. The way to get the most out of Fishburn is to give him as many first team minutes as possible for our side before some Premier League team decides to snaffle him up for their development team.

At the minute we're receiving zero footballing benefit for Fishburn's goals.
