    Preston v Swansea

A long journey today for the Jack Army but tempered by a nice weekend stay in nearby Blackpool for those that want it.
Two week break coming up and it will give us time to gel the squad further and integrate the type of football that RM wants to play.
Paterson and Grimes are back after being rested for the Cup game.
Bennett and Naughton also return, but Downes, Walsh, Smith and Cabango are still out.
A tough fixture this but we have a good record against Preston.

Well guys, we wanted it and we’ve got it, total football-total rubbish.
I feel sorry for our fans who travelled all that way to watch that no show.
It seemed like the players were not with the programme and were protesting.
Being hammered by a team in the bottom half of the table who only had their first win of the season last weekend is demoralising.
I thought Stoke was bad but this was a shambles of mega proportions. Come back Bob Bradley all is forgiven!

He doesn’t want the players to punt the ball up-field, he wants them to only play out from the back, that’s why he wasn’t happy with the win at Bristol.
Against Preston the players tried to play it out from the back every time and were continuously caught in possession and conceded three goals.
    Who is right?
There are times when teams high press you so you have to vary your out ball and be flexible, why he can’t see this I don’t know.

Estoban, and to confirm how their tactics were easily sussed -
I thought this comment on Swansea’s tactics was pretty damning.
Preston player Emil Riis, who scored the second of Preston’s three goals -

“The first 10 or 15 minutes we had to figure out the way they played, their shape and how we should press.
We needed to figure out the*distances. That’s when they got the goal unfortunately. After we figured it out we had them in the palm of our hands. We knew they were going to come here and play. They didn’t try anything else so we just kept doing the same thing.”

This gives the green light to every team we play. Martin has already said there’s no Plan B and he doesn’t want one. He will not change his tactics even if they’re losing. Very worrying.
