    Phil Jones

We're the bookmakers favourite to sign him on loan apparently (probably because nobody else wants him)

In truth, Hughie, you're right. And it would be a massive upgrade on having to use Krafth.

But the very fact that Phil Jones would be an umprovement for our defence tells you everything you need to know.

He's been a laughing stock at Man-U for years and i remember at the time thinking how mental it was to give him a new long-term contract in 2019 or whenever it was

Ashley and Charnley love cast offs so i wouldn't be surprised if we signed him

Not too many years back Bobby Charlton said he had everything and reminded him of the great Duncan Edwards.

At the time I thought the only resemblance to big Duncan was his physique.

While Jones is a defender who keeps making mistakes.Duncan Edwards was a skilful Left Halfback and as a kid scored goals like the one he scored at Hampden Park against a very strong Scotland side as they were in the 1950s.

I agree with you, Zip. That’s the type of player our club is linked with these days - sad!

Still I’m thinking it’s unrealistic that Ashley would pay his wages, even for one season only.
