    O'Donnell out of Denmark trip

The PA reports that Stephen O'Donnell had been refused entry to Denmark due to their Covid rules. Seems that he has recovered but somehow is not eligible for entry.

    Utterly shambolic from the SFA.

Does us a favour though. The extra week of not being involved with Scotland can only be beneficial IMO.

    Definitely, he needs a rest.

No expert here, but looking at Denmark’s entry requirements, it appears that if you’ve previously tested positive for COVID then you’re only allowed to enter Denmark from the UK (which is on the “orange” list) if your reason is on their list of “worthy purposes”, which professional sport does not appear to be. (Unless it counts as a “business meeting”?)

Missed an opportunity to sell when a playing Internationalist.
Suggest like Gallagher, International playing days are over and resigned to call-up to provide cover before forgotten.
We/they at least have the memories

Sell? We only just got him on a proper contract in this summer, anyone considering paying money for him would have taken him for free then or January or last summer.

I never begrudged SOD his caps even before he came to us, he clearly took immense pride in playing for Scotland and he fully deserved them as there was no one better. But there's no way he's what we should be aspiring to have in the national team. We'll need to wait and see whether Paterson kicks on to replace him immediately but much like you can point at the centre backs and say we're going nowhere till that's sorted, an international team with players of SOD's level in it is going nowhere fast.

Agreed - don't begrudge SOD what he's achieved the past few years, and his contribution at FP has been brilliant. That said, on the International front young Patterson looks a different animal; he should be put in as number 1 right FB and left to flourish in the role ... IMO ! And, if we have to let SOD leave cos of his 'release clause' good luck to him.

Patterson is out of the squad, the SFA have just tweeted, so SOD would seem the choice for Tuesday in Austria. If he can get into the country ofc!

That should get him up to speed for our game with Aberdeen on Saturday!
