I have often wondered, when a Manager is out of work does he have to sign on ?

Can you imagine a Manager having to sign on saying his profession is a Football Manager and the person in the job centre saying "To improve your chances of getting a job you will have to tell me what else you could or are prepared to do, like Hod carrier, delivery driver or food stacker in Tesco's"

Can people on the sort of money they're on actually claim off the state when they're out of work ? Surely not, not even in this lunatic asylum.

Reminds me of a young lad I know, he wanted a mortgage, when asked his profession he stated quite honestly, Professional Poker Player, which he is, and a very successful one. The bank wasn't convinced and ran checks on his account to ensure his creditworthiness. In the end they gave him the mortgage, but they took some convincing.

It was tongue in cheek Sinkov

But again (even if they are Millionaires and don't need it) they would have to sign on to keep their stamp going, but with the money they have again its a pittance to be arsed I suppose.

The way this country is going Alto, it's nearly impossible to know what's tongue in cheek and what isn't. In this lunatic asylum ANYTHING is possible, except perhaps common-sense, I don't expect that from our politicians any more.

His contract cancellation severance package will probably keep in luxury until his next job.

There's always another Chairman willing to take the risk.

I'm a bit surprised at Hughton's failure there, seemed a sensible appointment to me at the time. You just never know do you.

I suppose a bit like SD. He can only play with the hand he is dealt. If the players are not up to it, then Hughton is limited in what he can achieve.
