Who needs supporters in the ground

    Well Man U don't

The 2020-21 football season will go down as the one that clubs survived despite having virtually no fans coming through the turnstiles - and new figures from one of the biggest clubs of all show the effect.

The latest annual report from Manchester United shows that it went from matchday revenues of £89.8m down to just £7.1m.

But at the same time, the money that the club made from broadcasters showing the matches to fans in the UK and around the world jumped from £140.2m to £254.8m, wiping out that shortfall.

In case you've forgotten the reason that there was any matchday income at all... it was because clubs were able to get fans in for a match in the final week of the season as restrictions started to relax.

The Red Devils were able to invite 10,000 paying fans to watch them draw against Fulham on 18 May.

Lockdarn with no crowds began in June 2020 and ended in May 2021.

Barnsley's most successful playing record in 20 years started from Strubers last nine games of the 2019/20 season through to the games before the Play Off Semi Final in May when crowds returned.

Conclusion--to help Barnsley succeed do not attend the games.
