    Barnsley v Blackburn, previous matches

Heres what turned out the be a disappointing and rare 0-1 home defeat for us near the end of 1990-91, and they were struggling at the time and needed the win on the night. The rest is history of course, we missed a Play off place that season on goal difference only.

Heres a come back 2-1 win for us against them near the end of 1991-92, when Kenny Dalglish was their manager and spending millions. Their expensive recent signing Duncan Shearer gave them the lead, but we came back to win it thanks to Mark Smith and Andy Rammell.
And what I also remember about this game is our boss Mel Machin apparently had a scrap on the touchline with their assistant Ray Harford. It must have been summat serious as Mel never normally even raised his voice let alone his fists!.

This was a draw in our 1997-98 Premier league season, and it was a rare goal from Jovo Bosancic. We were relegated that season of course, and there isn't much else to say here.

And heres another season when we drew with them and were relegated, in season 2013-14. We'd recently signed Nick Proschwitz on loan for the season and he scored on the night, but I can't remember him or in fact most of the players that season doing anything that good.

Heres a 2-0 win for us at christmas, in our great first-half of a season back in the Champship in 2016-17.
Then sadly we had the upcoming dreadful January '17 transfer window, and things fell apart after that for Hecky and the club.

Heres another 2-0 win for us against them in the amazing Struber escape act season. This was at the end of June when the season had just re-started, and they deserved a whacking on the day for wearing that terrible 50 shades of awful grey kit with green socks!!.

And finally, heres another win for us from last season when we did of course make the Play offs. We had this comfortably won late on and then Adam Armstrong nicked a consolation goal back for them, but it was a 2-1 win in the end.
Hes gone now so he won't be scoring for them against us tomorrow!.

Ahh that was superb weren't it Pass, we mullered 'em on the way to Wembley that season. I don't think I can find highlights of that match though.

Btw look at those early 90s matches, hasn't Oakwell stadium come a long way since then ?. Even though it does still look a bit outdated in the modern day.
