    Cresswell

Had Phillips beside him but the kid can play and he's very good. Looked like an old veteran.

Only 1 game so best not to get too carried away but he looked in the Woodgate class for composure on the ball and all round ability.

Not sure how quick he is but reads the game well and I suspect he is a lot quicker than Cooper.

Watched most of the game on hesgoals, it kept buffering so missed some, thought Cresswell was outstanding, never flustered, didn't miss much in the air, never got bullied by the bigger boys, even though they tried, and I believe bielsa got booked for protesting about one of the challenges. Summerville was good, if only they'd played to his feet more and let him do his stuff, instead of hitting high hopeful balls, giving him no chance. Unfortunately like what's already been said, firpo thinks he's a left winger instead of a left back, surely we have a better left back, even if it's dallas. Roberts, let's all face it, is never going to be good enough, and rodrigo only shows class occasionally. Let's hope we stay up long enough to let these youngsters shine.

Over the moon with Cresswell. Excellent for us in finding out he is so capable. Pleased for him too to put in a performance like that. Great start for him.

Only took one game to find out Firpo is crap This kid showed class and you could see it even ten minutes in the game. He didn't miss a tackle, a couple of times he looked like losing possession but got himself out of it, passing was super. I read somewhere he had the most passes most headers more time on the ball than any other on the ground. Overall a superb performance which simply can't go unrewarded but we will see.

C’mon Oz give Firpo a chance he has been here 5 minutes …. he did a lot of good things last night and can add a lot to the attack - he is big, strong and fast and wins balls in the air. He has been starved of first team football for ages before he joined us - surely let’s give him a fair crack of the whip?

I will give him a chance but till now he is showing nothing can't defend passing is crap and even against the inferior team he was still the same. The worst aspect of his game is he appears so Lazy.
The post was in reply to Creswell only one game! and yes you can tell from early on how someone will fair. Players that can play show things from the word go just saying.

Would disagree watching him last night he shows for the ball all the time and is making runs for players - think he gets forward so much if we lose the ball he then is out of position defensively but they will need to work on that.

Dan James is also learning the system too. He has so much pace and can definitely beat a man and cross the ball.

The problem with James is everyone knows his speed therefore he is brought down faster than lightning. Without support from a LB that can actually pass and set him free he will suffer. The other thing I have noticed with James is when we lose the ball he sprints so hard to get back as Firpo limbers along.
Anyway, time will tell, and hope you are right as with all the injuries we will find out if Firpo is improving or all-around crap.
