Cresswell, geldhart and summerville are 3 who definitely should be getting regular game time, and even bate should be around. Drop the bigger names, might give them the kick up the backside some need.
Think the time is fast approaching for some of MB"s " undroppable " players to be given the hook, and three / four, possibly five U23s to be trusted, given sensible game time and really see what they are made of.
Team looks flat, stale, urgently needs some energy & youthful commitment / passion. Sure mistakes will be made, but something has to change. Playing 2 up front would be good, but also very unlikely.
Somewhere i remember someone saying " you"ll never win anything with kids "!!

Again, nothing to do with the results on the field, more with how those who post here "behave", and acknowledge their frailties when it comes to judgement, nothing more, nothing less. I've said repeatedly I was wrong about Bielsa (at least in his early years at LUFC), and about Raphina (although I don't think I was quite as harsh about him as some other (more to follow)).
I was right about;
Grot, Sloth, Anita, Innouguchi (or whatever), etc etc (you know the list by now), Lassoga, Antenucci, Casilla, and JKA, Rodrigo, Sloth, and I'm afraid to say Llorente because for all his physical frailties I think is a good footballer, but who is taking lessons on shirt pulling from Cooper!! and Koch, no matter how much he gets "bigged up" by others is going to be another Forshaw that we can't afford.
So yes, I have been correct about our "investments" in new players on monumentally more occasions than our dearly beloved, but not yet departed DoF and his sidekick Bielsa (or perhaps you don't think of Bielsa as anything more than a sidekick to our senior management team?)
Are you honestly suggesting that your negative assessment of all the players mentioned above were made BEFORE they all kicked a ball in a Leeds shirt? I think you may have had assistance with "hindsight" in some instances...which is not something management has when taking a punt in signing the dotted line.
If he is going to play Gelhardt as a striker then we might as well not bother.
Cresswell won't get many games ahead of our centre backs as that is the one area of the pitch where we are relatively strong.
Summerville definitely deserves more minutes and I'd also like to start seeing Drameh/Bate particularly when we are so short in midfield to allow Shackleton to play centrally.
Yes I am, and I was roundly criticised (called a xenophobe, kn0bhead, etc etc), for expressing my doubts before the player had played for Leeds, basing my view on the kind of research you might expect our scouting "organisation" to undertake. Do some digging on old posts if you don't believe me.
Think most of the signings made since we rejoined the Orem have been good and in the case of Raphinha exceptional.
Llorente is our best defender. Koch could become our best defender. James looks like he adds a lot.
Rodrigo is a good player just doesn’t seem to be firing especially when the better players are out. Firpo I think will come good and has started to show signs of that - needs a full season to judge him.
As such I don’t have a problem with any of them but it is more the players we didn’t sign - need at least one prem quality midfielder and a goal scoring striker (for when Bambam is injured).
I would imagine if we can stay up for two more seasons the squad will be solid all over.
Would think our DOF is now in a better position - as in his prior role he was handling all the required available responsibilities alone but now is more focused and allowed to single out a maximum of his preferred assignments. This now of course is due to a larger staffing budget and increase of numbers of specialist backroom staff now available and in position.
By decreasing the amount of responsibilities,I would presume that Orta will do a better job,as he can set 100% focus on the few assignments.Time management being the key which in fairness he never had at Boro or Leeds until recently.
