The constant trolling and insults by a certain poster doesn't help
Is dead since the political posts dried up, get them up again and get RROS back on board
The constant trolling and insults by a certain poster doesn't help
It’s been dead for ages now , and it’s due to your mates Rross and islay ruining the football debates by hijacking the football posts and putt8ng a political slant on any decent post , so many posters have left and will never come back now
I would be delighted to post about all the current problems with the Scottish Government owned ferries operated by Scottish Government owned Calmac Ferries Ltd but despite their taxes being squandered on them nobody on this forum is interested.
There are plenty of other forums where people are interested in information about the Scottish Government owned CMAL who are responsible for the maintenance and construction of new ferries on the Clyde and Hebridean ferry routes.
You live on the island of Islay, you depend upon and care about the ferry service and you deserve a good service. You and your neighbours probably use the ferries regularly as do other islanders.
Most of us on this forum live in Dundee and don't depend on ferries therefore care very little about the service. The nearest ferry port to Dundee is possibly Gourock from where you can go to Bute, but who in reality wants to go to Bute? I've been to Gourock and if I never go back there it'll be too soon, dump.
The nearest Calmac port of any use to me would be Oban, however when I finally decided to go to Mull I used the Lochaline to Fishnish route instead which was an excellent service. The only other ferry I've ever used was The Corran Ferry which is a council run service I believe - also excellent.
I accept that a proportion of my taxes will be spent on a ferry service to serve Scottish Islanders, a service which in my experience is excellent. I'm happy to contribute to that service because the people that depend on it also contribute to spending in my area. It's called central funding.
You're right that there are plenty other forums where people are interested in information about The Scottish Government owned Calmac Ferries, I have no interest in them but look forward to the day you decide you will only discuss ferries, and their political associations, on those forums and not on this football forum dedicated to Dundee FC.
