    Newcastle

The takeover in Geordieland just makes me even more convinced that fan ownership is the correct way forward for Motherwell.

The Newcastle fans are no doubt delighted to be rid of the former owner but they must be concerned about the club's future reputation despite the riches that are likely to flow their way.

I seriously doubt many of them are bothered and given global sport/the UK has collectively decided that cooperating with Saudi Arabia is fine, I don't really understand why they in particular are expected to uphold a moral standard long abandoned by everyone else.

It was quite noticeable that, at least on the news I was watching, that far more concerns were expressed about the Newcastle deal than were expressed about the activities of the Saudi chap the day before. They, of course, buy jets from us and put millions into our jolly horse racing.
Hypocrisy is a big part of everyday life, I'm afraid.
