I'd be happy enough with him, to be fair.
Would he have enough about him to turn our season round so that we're still a PL club next Summer when it really matters?
For me, Steve Gerrard, young, English,
ambitious and he loves our supporters.
A stepping stone for Liverpool, I know, but made for us.

From past experiences I think it’s a good idea to buy some solid ‘Kilcline type’ signings to help us firstly escape relegation and then get solid next season. I’m really not expecting any huge name signings this season or next.
The manager is a different proposition, however. I think they have to go for one with a longer term view in mind. I’m not saying Potter from Brighton but someone who is able to build and develop a squad like he has. Someone who also has the ability to develop or advise on developing the club (training ground, etc.). The last thing we want is a big name flop who does nothing apart from spending money for 2 seasons.
My perfect choice would be Rafa but that is not to be.
I can't make my mind up about Gerrard. He was a fantastic player i don't think anyone is doubting that and he's done well up at Rangers but the Scottish league is so weak it's hard to predict how good he would do in the Prem
I would take Gerrard over Martinez though that's for sure
Still think Conte is the leading contender. He's won Serie A 3 times with Juve, 1 time with Inter Milan and won the Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea. He has experience and is a winner
Wonder what will happen with Jones, he has shown some promise but was stifled by Bruce ?
I think Jones will move on.
Maybe back to England set up with Southgate.
Not for me winning trophies in the Scottish league isnt a great deal with it being a 2 horse race every season. Allegri Conte etc are who we need to look at proven winners and no way to Martinez as well
Here's a little snippet from the Daily Express about Rafa, can't ever see it happen though. Timing is everything I suppose.
