The fact he’s the country’s number two keeper is a sad reflection on how far standards have dropped.

Not even in my top 5 of Albion keepers since the early 70’s......bang average.
Quite interesting to see what some of the bookies think of him.

Skybet are offering 9/4 that he will be in the England 2022 23 man World Cup squad behind Pickford 1/20, Dean Henderson 1/4, Ramsdale 8/11 and Nick Pope 5/6.

Great price for anyone thinking Johnstone seriously is England’s no. 2 keeper. I certainly can’t see him being in the 3 unless 2 of the other 4 have serious injuries.

Exactly the problem England have with keepers at the moment. Don’t rate Pickford that highly - prone to losing his bottle but did Ok at the Euros. The rest are much of a muchness. Henderson rarely plays for ManU. Pope was No.2 but playing for Burnley and hoofing the ball out from the back has hampered his progress. Never understood why Arsenal paid so much for Ramsdale who is about the same standard as Johnstone but definitely no world beater. Strange one that - Johnstone gets rave reviews in the press but no-one came in for him. Maybe after all it is the “wait for a year and we get him for free” position.

Pereira left because money turned his head and he wasn’t committed in training.
Johnstone has not caused any trouble trained well for both club and country, there are 24,000 fans on Johnstone’s side and the odd few hundred against him. Great keeper doesn’t cause trouble but some still want him out. About time they put there prejudice aside and got behind him were all Albion fans at heart.

Totally agree. I have criticised aspects of his game in the past but he was excellent last season and as far as I'm concerned has been nothing but professional in all aspects of his game, both on and off the field, this season. I don't understand why fans are getting on his back. He returned early, trained hard and just got on with his job. What has he done wrong?

Not heard many West Brom fans wanting him out! Mick's post was the best - still does not command his box as well as he should and there's been much better keepers at West Brom

Good championship keeper but no Premier club wanted him and Ramsdale was snapped up! Are they all wrong?

Anybody could be snapped up on a free as for playing for England - ha ha! Our Livermore played for England so say no more!

Not against him in the slightest but would snap someones hand off with there was a part exchange for a Gayle like forward who knows where the net is or a real class player like Okay! Must would to be honest.

It was reported that West Ham made a bid for him but the bid was rejected out of hand as it was too low. Sorry to interrupt, please continue........ 😊 .
