Well - if Morris doesn't get fit - or Obbi never gets fit ……. then there becomes an increasing likelihood of relegation.
IMO that’s how important that position is in this Barnsley team.
The owners won’t be happy at a reduced income losing £££millions if we get relegated.
If that hole in the squad is still not mended by January then they have an opportunity to patch it up in January.
Clearly they knew there was a potential problem in the summer - but didn’t manage to get the lad that went to Coventry over the line.
So hopefully the club now realises that missing out on that one player has knocked the wheels off the wagon.
In saying that - the owners allowed the team to drift a couple of seasons ago - only to be rescued in the last minute of the season at Brentford.
So we will have to wait and see.
How the owners deal with the striker crisis will be a good indicator of the intentions of the owners this season.
I’m convinced that once we have that strong physical striker the fortunes of the team will transform.
We are too light weight up front.
And the Radio Sheffield interviewer and Marcus himself seemed to be alluding to this.
