    Sportswashing

Leading on from a very valid point made by Shearer on match of the day. The purchase of NUFC has put KSAs human rights activity firmly in the media spotlight.
I knew of it but hadn’t thought much about it till now. Surely that is a good thing? People who are not our fans can’t read ‘Newcastle’ these days without thinking about human rights.
The takeover could well contribute to an improvement in human rights there rather than be an issue of sports washing.

Ive always maintained that human rights would not improve in any country by "isolating them and barring them from participating in more modern, westernised activities. they are far more likely to improve, albeit slowly, through learning, participation and adaptation from immersion in a different way of life.
