Jones should be gone as well, very much apart of the problem.

He probably will be after the Palace game. It must be clear to the owners that we need someone with alot more experience than Jones

Club expected to hold talks with Fonseca this week according to SkySports:

Doesn't mean he'll get the job as he was close to joining Spurs in the summer but he's the bookies favourite at the moment

Guardian are reporting we're in "advanced talks" with Fonseca:

    https://www.theguardian.com/football...nt-for-manager

"Saint-Maximin could also relish playing for Fonseca, a coach who has built his reputation on constructing attack-minded sides. The Portuguese is understood to have done extensive homework on Newcastle and devised potential gameplans for impending fixtures. The club’s decision makers – the Saudi-based nonexecutive chairman Yasir al-Rumayyan, Staveley and her fellow director and minority shareholder Jamie Reuben – would prefer a swift appointment but they are determined to conduct exhaustive due diligence."

That would be an exciting appointment! I just hope and pray our fans give him time, and don’t start meaning at the first setback,if there is one.

Fcuking marvellous news. The new guy has a hell of a job on his hands but even an actual cabbage would be better than Bruce so we're no worse off while we look for the most important appointment of recent years.

Yeh i agree. You can't polish a turd but the group of players we have now are definitely capable of more and picking up some wins before the January transfer window opens

Just hope not buying a striker in the summer doesn't come back to haunt us. If Wilson and ASM get injured before Jan we could be in trouble, regardless of who the manager is

I hope whoever it is has good defensive nous. We can't go on the attack with the squad we have now - Keeganesque style would be doomed and we would go down. Rafa would have been ideal.

Attacking footballl is far down the line.

Has he to pick it up from the embassy?
