Definitely not a true reflection, good if you want your handicap up though
Drumoig don't do winter greens....generally.....although green tees are shortened and lengthened.

    Medal tees ain't though.

And as the course is measured for men aff the ladies tees and they ain't moved either you could also put in a card off of them.

Em kinda liking this new system.....got down to 6.3 in August but crept up again to 7.6

Much more a truer reflection of how you are playing at the time, more a form guide than an old style handicap.

Needing a lot more than the greens done at that course.

In my opinion that is a crazy rule as it is wide open to abuse.
Preferred lies are supposed to only take place on closely mown grass (fairway) but when I was a member of Islay GC the local members also took a preferred lie when their golf ball landed in the semi rough.

When I was a member at Downfield GC they used to have winter greens and we played off mats on the fairways. We used to play
off the original forward tees which made it a much shorter course than usual.
I enjoyed playing golf in the winter months at Downfield as a round of golf was a lot quicker due to the shortened length of the course and the usual slowcoaches who did not play on a Sunday during the winter months.

Well I was a member at downfield till this season , and the reason I changed is Downfield plays mats from 150yds in from start of November or even before , and the 5th and 6 th greens are winter greens till end of may , for over £600 a year no thanks ,
And by the way strathmore is consistently voted best course in Scotland under £50
So as usual you’re way of the mark with that assessment

Strathmore owners retiring. Club for sale for £1.4m. Is this the course you are talking about?

At Doncaster racing a few weeks back, 7-3 Edinburgh to the border, 7- 5 Cumbria south.

No the 1st time, winnae be the last but thought two defeats within an hour in 2 different countries was worthy of mention.
