Well I was a member at downfield till this season , and the reason I changed is Downfield plays mats from 150yds in from start of November or even before , and the 5th and 6 th greens are winter greens till end of may , for over £600 a year no thanks ,
And by the way strathmore is consistently voted best course in Scotland under £50
So as usual you’re way of the mark with that assessment

End of October and still no mats.

5th and 6th were damaged due to being under ice for 2 months this winter. Nothing to do with being winter greens until end of May.

Any course under £50 isn’t worth the money.

It’s never been a sport, it’s a way to pass time and have a gamble, won enough at cards over the years, don’t mind a change if it keeps some from greeting

Definitely your saying , boat of Garten, Alyth , Pitlochry, St. Andrews Eden and Edzell are not worth playing because they cost less than £50 , it sums up what is wrong with most of the downfield members , since 1972 I’ve been a member of 5 golf clubs , and downfield has the most unwelcoming members of them all , and that’s says something when they are more snide to new members than even Monifieth
