It was at least as bad as Ward Prowse tackle on the Chelsea lad - he was given a yellow, then urged to visit the monitor - then upgraded to a red. The ONLY time VAR has been seen to be used at ER this season was the dubious penalty awarded AGAINST us following a review against Everton, we have had stonewall pens ignored when James was flattened against West Ham and Watford, a blatant handball by Shaw at Scum and now this - and the guy was booked for handball - not the bloody foul!

Big ears paid a bit of lip service to it on MOTD last night but at the end of the day the big decisions only get called for the bigger teams. [Liverpool / Struijk, Chelsea/Ward Prowse, City/Southampton - penalty sending off - oh no, scrap that it was a fair tackle to mname a few ffs]

Never mind, silver lining Gelhardt and Somerville got extra game time, changed the game and Rapha doesn't look to be serious after all.

Maybe a biased view but Raf is targeted by teams and refs don't do much about it (ie sending off rather than a booking for fouls continually on the same player)

There have been at least 3 games where teams have gone in heavy against him and on two of those he picked up injuries and the ref was oblivious - makes the Harvey Elliott red card even more ludicrous for Struijk.

Though yesterday maybe the karma is evening out - Rapha okay and getting the pen at the end.

Watched game today and thought Cooper had one off his better games and Robert’s actually did okay.

James is better than Harrison and Summerville and Joffy added to the game when they came on. Wonder if both will start v Arsenal.

Just seen extended highlights - Never looked in danger till Semedo mugged Harrison on the right edge of the box and then the Jimenez’s scuffed shot hit Hwang and fell kindly for the S.Korean midget to turn the ball home from close range.
Thought our set up was bang on and the brilliance of Raph prompting all over the pitch before he was hacked off deserved more.

Should've had another penalty when Rodrigo went down under Kilman’s challenge and Joffy adjusted into the game well and had a thumping drive that was tipped over by Sa.
Joffy appeared to snatch at another chance just blasting over, but in the dying mins his run into the box was admirable and was a Defo pen under Semedo’s silly sloppy challenge. Thought Rodrigo was cool with well taken pen,so was a decent reward for another decent display from him from what limited views I got from Tv edited highlights.

Never saw Meslier really tested as the defence appeared steady all game viewing the highlights anyway - no mugs Wolves and they'd been on a decent run prior so promising performance from all.Great to see the young ones taking notice of the ER surrounding and focussing on the job at the same time - not easy with all that noise but great development experience for them to build on.All in all a better balanced performance.

The irony is that Raphinha is more likely to get punished by the powers that be for his online comments than get justice on the field.
