    RIP Walter.

No matter what your thoughts are about Rangers, the man is a Scottish football legend and made 183 appearances for United as well as starting his coaching career here.

    Sad news.

I'm too young to remember him as a player, but he was a great coach and assistant to Jim during our period of great success in the seventies and eighties.

His further success at Rangers will be hard to equal.

It’s time to put silly rivalry aside, rangers and United always had a mutual respect and we shared many legends over the years. Sir Walter was a true legend at both of our great clubs. He was saddened by the fall out. He will be up in heaven with Sir Jim, filling him in on your great new manager and the title challenge between our great clubs.

McCoist had finished his shift on Talk Sport but came back on air to pay a very emotional tribute that was a very hard listen.I have always respected and liked Ally and he has surpassed himself this morning.

RIP Wattie a legend at MORE than one club,FACT.

Wattie was part of the club when I started travelling to see United. Straight away I could hear and feel the respect the United fans had for him, and still do. Immensely strong character as he had to be working with Wee Jim and Souness.
