There might be 100,000 wanting to get in St.James' in a few years time.......if we can attract 50,000+ in the Championship imagine how it will be if we're regularly competing for trophies and European nights etc...

I think i fan zone/park or some sort of permanent venue for those who can't get a ticket would be great
Your zone/park idea brought back memories. Us kids had one in the late 40's early 50's. When it was full and we couldn't get in we would sit outside of the Leazes Terrace side, backs against the old rusted corrugated sheet wall listening to the crowd noise from which you could work out how the game was going, and then at the end wait for the fellows to come out and beg a programme from them and an account of the game.

This reminded me of watching a game from up a tree at the back of the popular terrace before the East Stand was built.Toon versus Chelsea and us kids were rooting for George Eastham against a young Jimmy Greaves who were both wearing a number 8 on their shirt and rivals to play for England U 23s.It was silly really Eastham was a traditional Inside Right a playmaker who normally wore 8 in the W formation though he did score a lot of goals while Greaves was a top striker, the only simarlarity was the shirt number.

Nice one Mick but I doubt only a few on here would understand the W formation which was standard those days, as it was the equivalent for the defence too.

If i was in charge i would:

    Bring back Shearer's Bar

Open an official club store in the city centre somewhere and call it 'Keegan's' and get him there on the opening day to sign autographs, meet fans etc

And for a fan zone, it would be boring to call it NUFC Fan Zone so i'd call it 'The Sir Bobby Robson Fan Park' or something like that

I think all those things would go down well and improve the NUFC brand as they are all people who mean alot to us supporters

Aye, just by association with SD it made the club seem cheap and tacky. The sooner we move away from that the better

There's so many improvements that can be made on and off the pitch...

That’s a great idea Albert, a bit like Henman hill at Wimbledon!

Yeh something like Henman Hill would be great and would mean increasing the capacity of St.James' wouldn't be as urgent (although i'd still like to see another tier on the Gallowgate with 8000+ seats or whatever was discussed in the past)

A new training ground will be the priority though as we'll need that to attract better players
