Be hopes the construction firm building the bridge, are not the one that built Mexborough
flyover, deemed unsafe now, no traffic allowed over the flyover.
Yet traffic allowed to drive under.

Well it must be 50+ years old now?

A bridge built here in 1984 (with a supposed 80 year life) closed in 2020 and is expected to reopen in 2025/6 after around $500m have been spent on it to just give it life 'till 2064.

How long did the St Anne’s flyover last? I reckon about 30+ years.

Also, back in the days when that and the Mexborough flyovers were built, traffic volume was a mere fraction of what it became. If their lifespans were calculated on the number (and size/weight) of vehicles passing over them then it's a surprise they lasted as long as they did.
