I know it’s been mentioned but couldn’t find it.

£11m from the Levelling Up Fund will provide a new pedestrian bridge across the river between the new residential development and Guest & Chrimes and New York Stadium, the route of this bridge will culminate in new public realm at the end of Water Lane close to where new housing is being built on the site of the former Sheffield Road swimming baths. A Riverside Walk will also be developed to open up the River to the new residents and people walking into the town.

....or a Bridge over Trouble Water....................???
I'll do it for half that
All joking aside, it's high time that Rotherham started to embrace it's two rivers and canal which flow slap bang through town. A major river, with a huge weir, and adjacent canal flowing straight through the town centre just yards away from the Minster should be a town planners dream. It could and should be the envy of other towns in the area.
No more buildings turning their back to the Don due to its industrial heritage. Now that it's clean, embrace it and cherish it. Roll on Forge Island.
Over half the cost of the NYS for a bit of a bridge and a path. never right.
As you go down Water Lane to the bottom, it is the shortest crossing area of the Don and will be almost on top of the G&C building. Makes viable sense to put it there. It will also aid those that actually park on Old Sheffield Road on match days as it will save them from walking all the way round and may well ease congestion on Don Street at full time.
