He’s certainly no longer a first pick currently but he sure as hell is somebody you want to have available from the bench. Particularly in a Derby if the Cop Beater is needing swiftly put in his place.
Yep, wouldn't mind him starting the Derby tbh because they don't like him on our team sheet. But... we're starting to look like a proper football side for the first time in a long while so it's fair to say we can beat them without him 🧡 Bring him on for the last ten minutes and ask him to man mark fat Charlie when they're 3-0 down.

Hopefully it is just injury layoff but if you chap the managers door and overdo it you can get it wrong.

I think the reason we are keeping ball better is more than just because Butcher is being kept out the team. One of the very worst at loosing the ball last season was Harkes, and in that respect he is a totally different player.

Just like some are saying Harkes is a better player because of those around him, there is no reason that Callum cant also be better should he get the chance to replace any of the 4 ahead of him.

The thing is, who is he replacing? Would you drop Fuchs, Harkes or Levitt?

You ask that question like there is no chance that your 3 players get injured! Any of that 3 gets injured, Glass it appears is the replacement. 2 get injured and a fit Butcher comes back in, plays a blinder and TC has an impossible task when all are fit again!

I like Butch - he can play middle or centre back if we have injuries.

He can play a bit too as well as being tough. Atm though the 3 in midfield are owning their positions

Exactly we need a strong squad, he will feature plenty if fit be it from start or off the bench

And I'd drop Levitt if he played like he did first half on Saturday past, he thankfully improved second half, couldn't be any worse though

Remember Levitt didn't feature at Easter Road, Glass was in his place, we need competition, to be in the position that we have strength in depth is brilliant

Butchers last three starts we did not concede, 1-0 vs Dundee and Rangers and 0-0 in Paisley

Also hope Sporle is back soon fighting for a place

Butch is good for us - just now he isnt 1st pick or even 3rd but injuries and suspensions will happen. we play entirely different and Butch can play too - he isnt fuchs but can still do a job for us i reckon.
