Big name hopefully not another ambitious young manager like Potter, may as well keep Smith.
Got a funny feeling about Eddie Howe, strange why he turned down The Toon!

Howe? has he turned them down? He was at the game last night with that sour-faced CEO, and has agreed in principle.

Talk of Denmark's manager, and Fonseca's agent seems to be working overtime. Every unattached manager is being touted as usual.

    Anyone's guess at the mo.

He has not signed yet and Toon fans getting worried, on their forum it was rumoured we had hyjacked Howe and that was before Smith was sacked! Seems how wants his own backroom staff or forget it....

So - we are an unestablished PL side lying 15th in the league with an unsettled backroom team, financially supportive owners and world class facilities. Having made a few big signings and with a great crop of youngsters we are a team in transition - who would want to come to us and take on "the project".

Eddie Howe wouldn't be the worst appointment when you think of some we have made down the years, kept Bournemouth in the league for a few seasons so would be used to a revolving door of players and knows the league.

Lampard - did ok with Derby, likes young players, well connected in the game, perhaps Chelsea was too big a step and he's waiting for the right opportunity.

Gerrard - Rangers undefeated, fast attacking football, can handle a big club with high fan expectations. Touted as Klopp's successor, could we be a good next step for the next 3 years?

Potter - Brighton have a good start and suddenly he's the talk of the town, now they are winless in 6 games - no thanks.

Denmark manager - good international form, not so difficult when you can select any player for your squad with danish blood but at club level not what we're after.

Nuno - a good fit, he had Wolves well organised, got them into Europe and managed them well over a 50+ game season - probably the best fit from those available?

I'd love to have Pellegrini - did a great job with City who were in transition at the time, but don't think he'd come after settling back to life in his homeland.

It's wide open WCV, but surely Pellegrini's experience at West Ham has blotted his copybook. Also, his time at Citeh, coincided with them acquiring fines for FFP.

We could express pros and cons all night really, but I'm still in shock that it actually happened TBH.

Evening just a shot in the dark what about Mark Robins ? he has been brilliant at Coventry City very similar to Dean Smith the way he worked his way through the leagues ?

Facepalm moment for me Exiled - I meant Mancini , however after a closer look at his career he has had a few brief managerial stints so would not be the best fit for us.

Lampard for me. Has a bit of experience and knows the Prem. Might even lure his mate JT as his assistant.
