Im watching the Wednesday Plymouth game, theres ladies football on bbc2, fa cup on itv too. Sky has premiership football.

Football has become an air filler, at least we are spared Columbo and another Bond film. The only respite, a bit anyway, is the ladies rugby that has started, and im going to watch that to ogle the birds. The rugby is poor but entertaining.

Is football now so cheap to put on, that making new programmes is more expensive.? Can we call it a poor mans entertainment? The problem with that is that there isnt high brow tv anymore.

Programme makers have twigged that the average iq is a 100, and cater for it.

The new Universe programmes by Brian Cox, or whatever his name is, goes at a funereal pace with loud music so you cant hear what he is saying anyway.

And we get a sentence every two minutes, if we are lucky Is this a music programme or a science programme?

The documentaries on sky are the same, its as if they deliberately play loud music to drown out the talking. Unwatchable.

We live in a tv world for c grades, who show no interest in science anyway. Then we get football, whatever happens its tedious.

The only intelligent programming is on youtube, you can choose how deep you want to go on anything. I think we have hit a ceiling, in music and entertainment .

There can only be what has gone before, re packaged. There i go ranting, and suddenly something entertaining happens, the New Zealand gals have just done a haka, or whatever it is.

Brilliant. Something bizarre and off the wall is required. What the english girls should have done in response was to use gestures back, the Italian thumb to nose, or hand to middle arm, arm raised with middle finger.

Im sure the NZ gestures meant worse.

Is football crass and repetitive? of course. Not worth the money.
