Quite natural to question an appointment especially with the rancour surrounding Deano's departure - if you've seen the clip of Gerrard saying at Rangers he'd leave no room for excuses by getting the best facilities, food, and he'd do his utmost to protect players, strong leadership.

His first team coach is said to be fantastic and Gerrard himself is a born winner who will take no prisoners - I'm optimistic.

I think he'll do well for you lads. He's got something about him and, from the outside looking in, it seems like you've got a decent squad who've lost their way a bit as opposed to the shower of shite our new fella has to work with.

We both know how poor Bruce was but with every clip of Howe taking training, speaking to fans or doing interviews, he looks even worse! (I know, didn't think that was possible!! ) As for Howe, we're all super-impressed with him but are under no illusions what 14 years of Ashley has done to the club and with the size of the job facing him.

Dave, I'm Dundee United through and through but adopted Stoke as my English team because my Stokie mate and I made a pact to adopt each others teams - we were utterly pi$$ed at the time. Thanks for your good wishes towards DUFC and the season ahead.
