A hard watch as always not helped by the poor PPV coverage which looks as though they are using a mobile phone. 1-1 half time which flatters Queens but 45 minutes to go.

Yet another uninspiring performance by Queens today and were fortunate to get another chance to progress in the cup. AJ will probably paper over the cracks once more by proclaiming we were unlucky to concede the late equaliser but there is virtually no fluency associated with this team and again we had a forward completely isolated upfront running around aimlessly which to his credit he did.
By far the poorest PPV coverage I have seen to date.

Yet another goal for McCallister to add to the 274 in his goal - laden career. Pity we don't have someone in our ranks like him.

    Scottish Cup Third Round Result

Cove Rangers 2 Queen of the South 2

It's a replay for Queens vs. Cove Rangers in the Third Round of the Scottish Cup at Palmerston Park.
Queens were ahead from Soares-Junior in 32 mins before Vigurs equalised for Cove Rangers in 33 mins.
Paton had Queens ahead again after 72 mins, after just appearing off the subs bench. Nditi was then shown a straight red card in 82 mins before MacAllister scored in time added on after 90+1 mins.

Crunch time for Queens now with 3 home games in 7 days - Morton 1st December, Partick 4th December, and Cove 7th December

Copied across from the P&B site…..

I can understand where your coming from. I must be around your age and I never thought I'd be so disenchanted watching Queens. Even when Gus was in charge I tried to get to every game home and away but now it's home games only with the odd close away games. Maybe the interruption of Covid stopping fans from attending took a bit of the appetite away, watching streams just became too easy. We're now living from season to season, having to build new squads every time, players don't have any affinity to the fans or club and the fans haven't time to build an affinity with the players, fighting relegation is now the norm. I understand the Board of Directors have a duty to run the club responsibly, keep spending in check, etc, but there must also be a sign of ambition, a feeling that they are at least trying to build up to something better than just barely surviving as a full time Championship team. Sadly we are just treading water, there's an apparent lethargy right throughout the Club and its now spread to the supporters and who can honestly blame more and more for losing interest.

Probably the most disappointing aspect about yesterdays game was the approach. We set up from the start to contain Cove who are a division , just, below us rather than taking the game to them. We had Roy isolated up front and were looking to capitalise on their mistakes as opposed to dominating possession and building from strength. Midfield was too busy trying to stop them, ending up being posted missing and it would appear that the manager's obsession with playing his lad at all costs is hindering the team as emphasised with Todd again warming the bench. We need a change in mentality to get the best from this squad rather than restricting them by trying to negate the opposition first and foremost.

Am I correct in saying that if we beat Morton and Cove overcome Rangers B we could be off up north again in the semi - final next March ?
