interesting thread on this on tek, never knew heggy etc were telt to take all their medals etc out of tannadice
If that's correct it's a worry. We should value and treasure our history not eject it out the door. I wonder if Tony's got an inferiority complex. Or maybe he read in the Man City manual they don't encourage it.

Sorry to hear about Tom Cairns, he has been a fantastic volunteer for United. It is so sad that he's left on a sour note. Disappointed to hear "the heart and soul of our club has been snuffed out", particularly when things are going so well on the pitch.
Also, if true, that Heggie, Malpas etc have been told to get their medals out of Tannadice - that is really strange, United supporters are proud of these guys and their achievements. The club may want to look forward, but United fans know and respect their history, and how difficult it was to get success.

Will the Heggie be renamed and all the photos removed and the lounge changed to the ta lounge to help support the ever increasing ego of 1 man?

Have we got any confirmation from Hegarty, Hamish, etc that they have been asked to remove their stuff?

All I know is there has been a big shake up in the last few years across the whole club! Everything is always under review. If people are not pulling their weight or not providing a good enough service they will be replaced!
I just know that plenty of people who were in "comfortable positions" under previous regimes were basically told to buck up their ideas or be replaced! Hence why we see more turnover of the behind the scenes staff and improvements to other areas of the club.

I'm not suggesting in any way that Tom or the others mentioned fall into this category. The work these people have done for the club has been incredible but times change?!

I would find it hard to believe that former players who still serve as club ambassadors at match day hospitality would be asked to remove their medals from Tannadice unless of course they have also been relieved of their duties?.I was at a funeral a week ago of a lifelong Arab and was speaking to Hamish who was in attendance,i never asked him why he was there but i assumed he was representing the club.

A few of these legends were on the Tannadice pitch last midweek getting photographs taken for a Utd legends promo. Again, strange if then 5 days later, they have been asked to remove their memorabilia. We do seem to be actively trying to remove elements of the past from our football club but surely this is way OTT if true. What next? Emptying the trophy cabinet?
