27 people have drowned in the channel today.

Photo earlier showed French police watching them launch.

As Bernard Manning would have said “ absolute tragedy, there was six empty seats” I can here the sharp intake of breath from some people.
To be honest any loss of human life is tragic. I feel for any women and children if any, but not for the young men who are able to fight for there freedom.

The Red Cross and Refugee Council once again urging our government to do more "as these people just want to live and contribute in a safe country". Fair enough, but they're already in a safe country and have passed through others as well. The last budget would have been a perfect opportunity to nail this quest for a long life of benefits.

What a disgusting remark by Manning you had to post on here. I think you sharing it makes it just as disgusting and disgraceful. I’m against illegal immigration but would never stoop to that low to share that remark. Sometimes it’s best not to say anything at all, especially when people have died. There must something really effed up in your life to even say that.

It’s tragic but more should be done to jail for at least 10 years the people smugglers so they can’t operate. Boris also needs to get his act together - they came from France so should be sent back to France. They are illegal so should not be allowed to enter full stop! Yes you can understand some people want a better life but that’s not our problem. There’s enough starving people in this country including kids so we need to get to grips with this! There’s countries next to the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait where people are starving but what do these rich neighbours do? Absolutely nothing so why should we get involved!

The Liberal party is saying it's our fault.

It has to be far more attractive for refugees to take the risks that they are in order to reach the UK. They have to pass through so many safe European countries to get here. If we adopt the same measures as these other countries then hopefully these lives would be saved as there would be no great desire on their part to cross the channel. If what you say about the Liberal Party is correct soulman, what is their answer; to let everybody in who wishes to come here?

Where to start with all of this.

The only thing I can think of that I don't think has been suggested before is to set up official asylum application centres in various Eu countries which we help to fund.

Safe havens that are properly policed with all the services people need including heath centres and help from ALL nations with official staffing and help with applications.

People then apply for the country they want to stay in with each country agreeing to take an annual number of people based on their land mass AND that only people with a right to stay or with exceptional circumstances being allowed to repatriate.

It has to be made clear there is NOT A SINGLE PENNY on offer to anyone who enters illegally and that they will be returned back to where they started out from.

If you don't actually "manage" a problem it becomes a bigger problem.

The French police watching illegals get on boats is criminal and disgusting.

Par for the course with the surrender monkeys!
