Isn't that the frustrating thing though? With a little bit of ambition we could take advantage of (IMO) a very weak league. I'm amazed we're third but it is what it is. I think a lot will depend on who spends what on a little bit of quality as to where we finish as I'm not optimistic under Lai but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

When we were third in the Prem nine years ago we had a Shane Long in his prime and Odemwingie and possibly Lukaku on loan.

The thing that spoilt that season was Steve Clarke rigidly sticking to his 4-2-3-1 when most fans agreed there were matches where we needed to change things.

Managers hang themselves due to their own stupidity and intransigence and trying to reinvent the wheel!

When you compare our forwards at that time to where we are now........Jeez!😢

We’re almost back in Paul Williams and Kwame Ampadu territory!

I'm with you. Neighbours wife asked mine the other day 'Why is he always so cheerful?' Someone I hadn't seen for awhile asked how I was "Good" I said. "Actually things are pretty damn good. Not a lot to complain about" This sanguine attitude to life has served me well. Only on one occasion can I recall my optimism badly 'biting me on the bum.'

This positivity doesn't however stretch to The Albion who I am more concerned about than I have been been for many a long year.

Back to the OP can anyone remind me what a quality striker is?
