Cold light of day and yesterday’s performance

Firstly I wasn’t at the game but speaking to those who were it seems as I have seen over the last few games that we are starting to pass and move the ball better and often look pretty slick, we were by far the better footballing side last night, which is encouraging as this was a tricky away fixture, As we all know and I’m sure Val does, 2 areas clearly need improvement, defence we need O’Shea back and an additional centre back in January, striker oh boy what’s that phrase ‘but for a hapeth of tar the ship was lost’ how true Lai simply has to get the cheque book out and spend on a good target man!
I don’t think you can blame Val for us not getting 3 points last night the formation was good but we are lacking quality and composure in front of goal.

If Blackpool had a decent striker we could have lost 4 , to be fair we did play with more intensity but we have nothing up front & the defence is a nightmare, no one to come on & change things , substitutions come on same time ever game so predictable, & Val’s post match comments " think of the positives we kept a clean sheet 🤡 Fu ck about ,

Val sent hugill on when we had a corner and almost paid off and yes Blackpool had the easier chances and I suspect their fans are just as frustrated as we are at how many chances created and not put away by a bit of quality still Fulham aside we don’t lose by many- is that a positive?

Can’t fault the effort the players put in. They were clearly up for the battle. But we have no quality CF - been obvious since beginning of season. Also we haven’t replaced Pereira - so no creative MF who puts their foot on the ball and dictates play. We seem too much “kick and rush” and no-one with composure on the ball who can dictate play. I am actually ok with the defence at this level - we aren’t letting in many goals and Clarke is an absolute gem. Thought the MF had more energy last night with Molumby and Mowatt paired together.

Val has his critics. But for me it still comes down to Lai and lack of investment in the summer. Good to hear the fans getting restless with the board .... although the problem is one person Lai.

To my mind the situation is that we are miles behind Fulham who are a class act and will win this league. Bournemouth, at present, are stronger than us but that could change. At present we are no better than quite a few sides who are on our heels. If Stoke win tonight we will drop to fourth. Wasn't that the same position we were in when Moore was sacked? Just saying like.

leicester 💯 % we are top 6-8 team at best no more than that , & if we spent millions in the january window which by the way we won't, it would probably be to late for this season , will their we be anyone rushing out to put £100 on us to beat forest friday night i doubt it ,

They had two really good chances. One was well defended (at last breath) and the other was a magnificent double save from Johnstone.

We had 6/7 good chances and a fair few smaller half chances. We could have won, could have lost but overall we were miles ahead as the better side.

I would agree with Val that there were positives in a tricky away game. Are you expecting him to slate the team week in, week out?

We’re not as bad as anybody thinks. We are however having a flat spell. It happens. We could do with an out and out striker but how long have we been saying that now? How many decades? The best strikers end up in the top six Prem clubs. There are a lot of teams in the Prem with nothing to write home about when it comes to strikers. I am enjoying the season and we are still well placed at this point in the season. I am just trusting in Val to get things going again and other than that I’m not going to have an anxiety attack over every scorline.

Logic is going to work. If they had a decent striker we could have lost but no mention that we have mp playing as cf ffs. How many we could have won by if we had a decent striker isn't relevant when you can put the boot in at every opportunity.

How Grant missed that chance at the end is beyond me.

I think the defence is fine as we'll hopefully have Dara back but we need to terminate Jh loan and get at least one striker and a cm.

We also need to get the SJ contract sorted or f uck him off whilst we can get a fee.
