It’s a little far fetched, don’t you think?

On a side note, I do think Boris’ stay in hospital was overblown or even fake. If you could think of a better way to get the public to take the pandemic seriously at that time, it was this.
It’s not me who is putting those villain characters to those names you mention. I like conspiracy theories yes, like others do too. But it is really difficult to try and unravel what is going on with covid. Many could see what was coming. I’ve said in an earlier thread that this would happen, and boom.. in your face there it is - a new variant. I don’t go onto conspiracy websites or follow anybody that does. Actually, i watched a video on youtube by Dr John Campbell about this new variant (posted yesterday), which was a refreshing watch compared to the news outlets. He’s only following the science and explains the number of spikes this new variant has compared to previous variants. Like all news, i take them with a pinch of salt.
I get it, you only frequent this site only ever to debunk some statements like myself will make (that’s not me having a go) with regards to Covid. But I think you’re only ever repeating what it is you are being told. Who knows if all current governments are in on this, and why? To stay in power, money? Maybe. The world is full of twisted people and our government are only charlatans to benefit themselves. I don’t believe we are being told the truth, yes that’s my view. But everything that’s going on, we’ll its just not sitting well with me.

I’m curious to know your background and industry you work in. Like i’ve said previously i’m for the science and work in the education sector and science is what we promote and i’ve gained postgraduate level quals so i’m not just anybody or do I regard myself to be someone highly knowledgeable about a certain field (despite my rushed typing off a tiny screen that makes my writing to look poor). I just have a conscience that this whole thing does not add up.

Sure no problem Regis. I work in an NHS trust up north and I’m mostly into system planning. So basically helping services work together to improve how each pound is spent. Working as a system rather than individual Trusts, primary care etc.

I have worked with Pathologists for years and know what they have gone through the last 18 months. What people don’t see is that there are thousands of these people. Thousands of Microbiologists and other scientists involved in covid-19 diagnosis. They most certainly aren’t ‘on the take’ or scared of blowing the whistle.

I do agree our government are crooked as f*ck. Most MP’s have little morals and don’t mind exploiting the public purse!

Pfizer will make £36bn from this pandemic and theirs is the only jab anyone talks about these days, we have already seen enough cronyism from the likes of Hancock to know that plenty of them are in on it - why else would you advocate to vaccinate children when the JCVI (who are supposed to be "the science" this govt kept on about following) said they could not support it due to the risks involved. Greater numbers of young people are now experiencing cardiac events yet much is made over blood clots because that happens to be a different manufacturer.

As for Bond style villainy - what are your thoughts on the World Economic Forum and the incoming introduction of CDBC's which will control how you spend YOUR money.

On NHS capacity - it is the job of government to plan public services is it not, the blame for lack of contingency planning in the event of a pandemic lays at the door of Jeremy Hunt when he was health secretary. Our spending on health as % of GDP relative to health outcomes is far worse than many countries and the chickens have now come home to roost.

The 4 CMO's signed off the use of vaccines in children, weighing up the known risks vs post Covid syndrome which happens in 1 on 7 kids apparently. I've commented before that myocarditis is ridiculously rare post vaccine. Either we're leaving the advice to scientists who get this kind of stuff or we're going to accuse them of being evil b*stards who swing around on large chairs smoking cigars. It's far more likely that these are good honest folk than the latter.

Ironically, a lot of people (particularly young people) want a socialist government, and they will vote to hand over how someone spends your money. Often the same people outraged by corruption in government and any smack of evidence around control. Surely at some point in our lives the little notes with the queens face on would become redundant, right?

But some contingency planning isn't possible as some specialists don't grow on trees and can take 7-8 years to train. People say get them from abroad, but the competition abroad is intense also and training/qualifications differ due to different national need. People say just spend more, but if you're familiar with Game Theory, that just raises cost all round. It's really not a simple topic as you can flood certain areas with staff but bottle-necks still occur where specialist diagnosis is required.

Danish Professor of infectious diseases: ”No need to panic about ”Omicron”, the seasonal flu comes every year in new variants and shapes”.

Hence flu jabs every year of course, and millions of people tragically die from flu and colds every year.

Vaccination is a good thing, and to try and augment the number of vaccinated people is the most prudent and measured approach IMO. Though, it is a choice for everyone to make, and so it should be.

I predict here and now that this new variant will be as effective as Ken Zohorre.

There’s absolutely nothing to see here, it’s purely media hype.

These days governments are so jumpy about getting a media and social media backlash that they panic into action.

Could you see old Maggie being bent out of shape by what Kay Burley might say on SKY?

It’d be laughable if it wasn’t so pathetic.

Hope you're right Mick but how I see it is if most continue to comply with this Governments diktats then its never going to end. Governments with extra powers are loathe to give them up.

TBH, can't see that the govt are doing anything wrong (for once!). Far too early to tell if this new mutation is going to turn out milder or more infectious or whatever but surely it's better to play safe in order to avoid a further potential lockdown and mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing don't seem to be unreasonable requests coupled with increased booster jab takeup.
